SISTA ZAI founded Stillwaters in 2011, when she was looking for a group of African women writers who could support her and keep her accountable to her dream of becoming a published author.

Last year, she won a scholarship to develop the idea of an “African Woman’s Writing Group” into a social enterprise. She is now a Fellow of the School for Social Entrepreneurs.

Sista Zai (her stage and pen name) has an academic background in Law and International Development.  In both fields, she has focussed on Gender, International Human Rights and Postcolonial Studies.  She is a radio announcer, writer and spoken word poet. You can follow her blog.
